THE KVB: a tribute to the J&MC ?

I wish I had known the time when the Jesus and Mary Chain released Psychocandy. Indeed, in 1986, it was not considered as a rock’n’roll manifesto yet and people who listened to them were pretty much living the experience rather than catching it up after it’s all gone.

But, I did not so I must live now, at a time when new music is released everyday at a terrific rate. And, yes, it has disadvantages because the greatest and the worst productions come out of the blue at the same time. Somehow, in this confusing net, you might find some great artists that do not forget the past and re-use it in a way that fits the twenty-first century.

That is the case with THE KVB (aka Klaus Van Barrel from Britain) who reminded me of the Jesus And Mary Chain through his music. And I really love the ability he has of bringing back good old listening memories while digging his own path at the same time.

“Lost” is a good example of this great mixture and confirms that even if I did not live the Psychocandy era, I have nothing to be sad about.
